Vandana Singh writes science fiction (mostly) and professes physics at a small public university near Boston.  Her short stories and novellas have been reprinted in numerous best-of-year anthologies and her collection, Ambiguity Machines and Other Stories (Small Beer Press and Zubaan, 2018) was a finalist for the Philip K. Dick award.  Her most recent collection of essays and stories, Utopias of the Third Kind  came out in 2022 (PM Press). Vandana’s current academic work on climate change also informs her fiction.  She was a 2021 Climate Imagination Fellow at the Center for Science and the Imagination at Arizona State University, for which she created fictional visions of climate futures, published online in 2024 the Climate Action Almanac.  Forthcoming work includes a story in Revolution In the Heart: Stories Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin (ed. Jonathan Strahan, 2025).  She was born and raised in India, where she continues to have multiple engagements, literary and otherwise.
